Cody, who is coordinating the comp-plan engagement, told the board he had been in touch with Marvin and staff to schedule focus groups and town halls. Commissioners discussed likely venues (the NACO building in Ogallala, a school lecture hall in Paxton, and a third location such as Brule), and the likely rental costs. One commissioner said the NACO building quoted approximately $1,300 for a large room, though staff also noted smaller rooms or school facilities could be lower cost. Board members expressed a preference for three geographically dispersed locations to give residents easier access.
No formal vote was taken, but commissioners said the cost can be covered from the comprehensive-plan budget and asked Cody to firm up locations, dates and rental estimates and return with details. The board also set a special planning-session meeting date for later in the month to continue work on the plan.
