Choctaw County commissioners approved a memorandum of subaward agreement with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources authorizing state subaward funding for a McCarty's Ferry project, the county engineer said.
The county engineer presented an estimated project cost of roughly $741,004 and said the state subaward would cover 75% of that total (the county engineer cited a figure of $556,056.72 for the state share). The county's approximately 25% match would consist primarily of county labor, equipment and in-kind services, the engineer said. The commission voted to allow the chairman to sign the subaward documents.
The county attorney reviewed and revised the memorandum; the engineer said the parties had negotiated changes and the county attorney approved the document before the vote. The engineer told commissioners the project will be advanced as soon as the subaward paperwork is executed by both parties.
