Choctaw County commissioners approved payment and signature authority for final invoices on a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) road project, allowing the chairman to sign invoice No. 1 and the retainage invoice so the project can be closed out.
The county engineer recommended approving invoice No. 1 from APAC for $479,773.02 and a retainage invoice of $12,301.87; the commission noted the two combined total $492,074.89. Staff said those amounts will be charged to the ADECA project account, not to county general funds. The county engineer also noted a grant writer invoice that has been submitted to county staff and estimated at up to roughly $42,000; that invoice will be processed separately and brought back to the commission.
A motion to allow the chairman to sign the invoices was moved and seconded and carried on a voice vote.
The county engineer said the project is 100% complete and approving the retainage invoice now avoids a return visit to the commission for final closeout signatures.
