Fayetteview Parkway 18% complete; regional lift station ready, TxDOT widening planned in three years

Town engineering staff updated the council Feb. 4 on several construction projects, reporting progress on the Fayetteview Parkway project, completion of a regional sewer pumping station, and early coordination with TxDOT on a future Highway 5 widening.
Engineering staff said Fayetteview Parkway is about 18% complete after approximately three months of work; crews have installed storm sewer sections and begun drilling bridge piers over Sloan Creek. Work at the project’s northern end, Fayette Crossing, remains blocked by a power pole that utilities must remove before the road can be opened; staff said Spectrum was running fiber and another provider remained to finish permitting and relocation.
The regional sewer pumping (lift) station completed testing and is ready for service, staff reported; the line under U.S. 75 is in place and the City of Allen is expected to be among the first to connect flows.
Staff also said TxDOT has notified the town that it is working on utility conflicts for the Highway 5 widening from Country Club North to Spur 399 and expects to let the project in about three years. As part of that work the town expects to relocate and upsize a small water line on the east side of Highway 5 north of Country Club, which could require a 12‑inch commercial main and right‑of‑way acquisition through the TxDOT process.
Staffers answered council questions about local impacts, including potential effects on a nearby strip center and parking; they said the schematic shows an initial four‑lane section with a wide median that would allow future lane expansion and that some front‑parking could be replaced with rear parking to accommodate right‑of‑way.
