Parks commission names representative to LC Stevens master plan steering committee

During the May 6 meeting staff described the steering committee schedule: an ideas meeting in mid‑May, a concept development session in July or August, and a master plan review in October. Parks Commissioner Kaiya volunteered to serve as the commission representative on the steering committee and the commission voted to approve that appointment.
Staff said the steering committee will include a council member, a parks commission representative, Economic Development Authority representation, two staff members and members of the public and business community. The commission asked staff to circulate meeting dates when they are finalized.
Commissioners who could not commit for all three sessions said they would support continuity but noted that their terms or schedules might change; staff said the selected representative will relay committee discussions back to the full commission.
The commission adjourned after brief additional park updates and confirmed its next regular meeting date.
