Todd County Health & Human Services restructures units, eliminates vacant bilingual case aide position

Todd County’s board approved Health & Human Services’ proposed organizational changes during the May 6 meeting, including eliminating one vacant paraprofessional case aide/bilingual position and restructuring administrative and financial service functions.
HHS staff said the vacated paraprofessional bilingual case-aide role is no longer needed after the department added a resource navigator/interpreter position (Kimberly Santana). The board approved the elimination of the vacant position.
The board also approved a revised organizational chart that eliminates the administrative services manager position, adds an accounting services supervisor, creates two lead eligibility worker positions in the financial services unit, and transfers certain administrative assistant and paraprofessional roles from administrative services to financial services. Staff said accounting specialist and administrative specialist positions will report to the new accounting services supervisor.
Commissioners asked for a copy of the final organizational chart to be distributed to the board; staff agreed to circulate the HR-produced document. The changes were presented as internal reorganizations intended to align duties and streamline financial-services workflows.
The board approved the personnel and organizational changes by motion with no recorded opposition.
