The Pipestone County Board approved a request for a new-home tax abatement for Parcel 187620400 (applicants Jose Fernandez Garcia and Maria Flores Garabay) after the applicants obtained a building permit from the City of Pipestone.
County staff said the applicants submitted updated building plans and received a footing-and-foundation building permit; the applicants plan to complete the structure by winter, the record notes. Following a public hearing, the board approved the abatement by recorded motion and adopted Resolution 59-16-25.
The board also scheduled a public hearing at 10 a.m. on June 10 to consider a separate new-home abatement application from Lance and Tammy Oi (application currently shows the EDA as owner and is expected to transfer to the Ois before the hearing). County staff said they will publish required notices and confirm ownership documentation before the June hearing.
County staff noted the abatement approvals follow standard procedures: applicants must obtain building permits and meet program requirements before the county issues abatement approvals. No public objections were recorded during the hearings presented at the meeting.
