Construction underway at Hubbard County government center; project manager outlines schedule

He reviewed a phased schedule that places completion for Level 2 renovations in June 2025, Level 1 renovations June–September 2025, lobby/records/sheriff renovations in January–February 2026 and the jail housing/booking renovations from June 2025 through September 2026. New-construction elements — the garage and sally port on the west side and the new lobby/records/sheriff addition on the east side — were scheduled to begin within weeks and to wrap up in early 2026.
When commissioners asked about schedule and budget, Austin said the project is “where we need to be” relative to the construction schedule and that contractors are meeting specifications, while acknowledging normal construction hurdles and a forthcoming timing issue: some furniture for the second floor will arrive later than expected, which will alter transition timing from Level 2 to Level 1 work but not the overall project window.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the project was scheduled during the meeting morning at the west-side sally-port area; staff invited commissioners and the public to attend. Austin said project oversight committee meetings will continue biweekly and that weekly construction updates and photos will be posted publicly.
Next steps: Staff will continue oversight meetings, post weekly progress updates to the county website and report back to the board on any schedule or budget changes.
