Chickasaw County supervisors approved issuing requests for proposals (RFPs) for audit services and for professional human resources services and discussed scheduling in-person presentations from bidders.
For auditing services, staff proposed an RFP covering fiscal years ending 2026–2028 and recommended a June 13 due date for sealed proposals to the county auditor—s office, with in-person presentations to follow the week of June 16 or June 23. The board discussed the common practice of soliciting at least three proposals and noted that the state auditor often declines because of workload; staff said they would send the RFP to Garner and Company, Hacker Nelson and the state auditor and would expand the solicitation if needed.
On HR services, supervisors discussed the current provider and costs (previously cited as about $1,800 per month) and the merits of an outside vendor versus hiring an in-house HR person. The board favored issuing an RFP to explore options and asked staff to invite firms to present in June, with submission and presentation dates to be finalized by staff.
The board also flagged future discussion of IT contractor services and indicated an intent to include that item on a near-term agenda.
Ending: Staff was directed to distribute RFPs, collect proposals by mid-June, and schedule presentations so the board can evaluate providers and award contracts in late June.
