Isle of Wight begins countywide Safe Streets for All planning with federal grant

Isle of Wight County officials on Tuesday introduced a federally funded Safe Streets for All (SS4A) action plan to identify dangerous locations and prioritize pedestrian and bicycle safety projects countywide.
The program, led by Transportation Administrator Jamie Oliver and consultant Larry Marcus of Wallace Montgomery, will combine crash-data mapping with pop-up and online public engagement to produce an action plan the county aims to complete in spring 2026. Oliver said the county “was awarded a federal grants” for the program and expects the plan to be countywide.
