The Department of Human Services presented a provider‑manual change introducing a new form to identify when beneficiaries enter hospice and to prevent separate billing of codes already included in the hospice rate.
Veil Smith, deputy director for the Division of Medical Services, said the form “allows us to ensure that certain codes that are included in the hospice rate are not billed separately.” DHS told the committee the change has no fiscal impact.
Committee members had no questions; the chair recorded the rule as reviewed and approved.
