The bill, presented by Representative Wardlaw as “the procurement study bill” stemming from a procurement issue last October, directs the department to correct and reissue the rule within 120 days, Wardlaw said. He said the council had unanimously recommended the step in December after hiring a consultant, the same firm used years earlier.
Wardlaw, who introduced the measure for Senator Gilmore, made a motion that the committee “do pass.” The committee chair called for the voice vote; members responded “aye,” and the chair declared the ayes had it and moved on to the next agenda item.
