Planning commission approves temporary permit for Spatoni’s Pizza 50th‑anniversary event

Fauquier County Planning Commission members voted to approve a category 8 special permit (SPPT25024112) authorizing Spatoni’s Pizza to hold a 50th‑anniversary temporary event on May 31, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with conditions required by county staff.

The permit authorizes a temporary patio extension and live music for an anticipated peak of about 100 attendees and requires approvals from Fire and Rescue, the Sheriff’s Office, the Health Department and VDOT before the event. County staff said the applicant will provide two portable restrooms, use two overflow parking parcels off Lee Highway and arrange personnel to direct traffic and parking.

The permit record says the grass parking areas must be mowed and maintained, no event parking or loading is permitted on Route 29, and the applicant must obtain a VDOT land‑use permit for special‑event signage. The planning commission heard no public speakers on the item and approved the permit by voice vote.
