West Carrollton thanks flood partners, hires events coordinator and posts tax-office extended hours and community events

City staff thanked outside partners for flood response work, announced a new part-time events coordinator and listed upcoming tax-office hours and community events during the council meeting.

A city staff member expressed appreciation to the Miami Conservancy District and to city recreation department staff for work responding to recent heavy rain and flood impacts along the Great Miami River. The city welcomed Angela Reed as its new part-time events coordinator in the Parks and Recreation Department; staff said Reed will take over planning and coordination for special events such as First Thursday.

City staff (identified in the meeting as Yvonne) outlined operational and community-event details for April: extended tax-office hours on April 14 and 15 from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.; the office will be closed April 18 for Good Friday with no change to trash pickup; an Easter egg hunt, co-hosted by the West Carrollton Alliance Club, will be held April 19 from noon to 2 p.m. at the soccer complex; and the city’s 195th anniversary will be observed on April 29, 2025, with related social-media posts and a photo contest. Staff encouraged residents to use online tax services where practical and, if filing in person, to bring printed documents.

Council members publicly thanked county and city staff for flood work and recognized the tax department and other employees for their efforts during busy periods. Council also discussed monitoring Owl Creek as water levels recede.
