Montgomery County Commissioner Mary McDonald greets West Carrollton council, offers county support

Mary McDonald, Montgomery County Commissioner, attended the council meeting to introduce herself and to offer cooperation between the county commission and West Carrollton.

"I just came to say hello to everyone," McDonald said, identifying herself as Montgomery County Commissioner and giving her West Carrollton-area address. She told the council she had previously served as mayor of Trotwood and that her visits to cities and townships around Montgomery County are part of a pledge to connect county leadership with municipal officials.

"I think when you have the mayor perspective, people say, you know, this is something really different," McDonald said, describing how her previous municipal service shaped her approach. She offered assistance to the council, saying, "if I can do anything for you, I'm here."

Council members responded with thanks and positive remarks about building the relationship with the county commission. Several councilmembers and the mayor thanked McDonald for attending and noted the benefit of closer contact between county and municipal officials during issues such as flood response and other community matters.

McDonald’s remarks occurred during the audience-comment portion of the meeting and were introductory in nature; she did not present formal requests or ask for votes.
