A Department of Public Health panel opened a disciplinary hearing May 5, 2025, into allegations that Dr. Gary Bikoff failed to inform a patient that gallstones appeared on an abdominal ultrasound he ordered in November 2018 and failed to forward certain results to specialists, Department attorney Linda Fezzina told the panel. The panel comprises Dr. Robert Green, Dr. Daniel Rissy and attorney Edward McEnany.
The case stems from a patient complaint entered as a Department of Public Health exhibit and a statement of charges (petition number 2021914) originally filed Dec. 13, 2023. Fezzina told the panel that the patient learned in June 2021 at Rockville Hospital that gallstones had been present on the November 2018 ultrasound, and that the Department’s reviewer concluded Bikoff “failed to meet the standard of care” by not diagnosing or informing the patient and by not forwarding all test results when referring the patient to Connecticut GI.
