“We're looking at about another 5 to 6 weeks, for it to be completed,” Taylor said. He also said the playground glider part was expected to arrive the next day and recommended the city consider ordering one or two spare gliders in the next budget cycle to reduce future lead times.
Taylor and commissioners discussed deteriorating wooden picnic tables at Anton Schumann Park; staff said weather has shortened the life of wood tables and recommended exploring heavier metal picnic tables for future purchases to reduce frequent replacement.
In administrative business, the commission reported that City Council approved the reappointment of Brad Kessler to a Parks and Recreation Commission full‑time position (term length reported as two years). The commission also acted on member attendance: a motion to mark Brad Kessler’s absence on April 14 as unexcused passed, and a separate motion to mark alternate member Gabriel S.
