Seagoville public works to seek change order after pump failure at Hard Road station

Chris Bryant, Seagoville public works director, told the City Council that Pump 3 at the Hard Road pump station "is completely gone" after burning out in August and that pumps 1 and 2 remain in service.
"We have 4 pumps ... Currently, we only have 3 pumps in service. Pump 3 is completely gone," Bryant said. He said staff are collecting quotes to replace Pump 3 and expect the change order to fall under 25% of the original contract amount, which would permit the city to proceed under its purchasing rules; Bryant said he will present the quote to council once it is ready.
Council asked whether Pump 3 was a backup or in regular use; Bryant explained the station has four pumps and three are currently operating. No replacement contract was approved at the meeting; Bryant said he plans to present the quote at the next council meeting for formal consideration.
