Seagoville Economic Development Corporation approves dumpster repairs, youth sponsorship, skatepark sidewalk and roofing change order

The council voted to approve the sponsorship.
The council approved a contract with CNM Concrete Contracting for sidewalk work at the Seagoville Skatepark for compensation not to exceed $5,000. Staff said the sidewalk will connect the skatepark to the road so skaters do not have to carry boards or bikes across grass; council discussion noted the path would likely be about 10 to 15 feet to the road and that drainage/sewer considerations apply.
Finally, the council ratified SEDC change order number 1, $21,389.08, under the SEDC agreement with Castro Roofing of Texas, Inc., to provide additional maintenance including waterproofing exposed brick (parapet) and asbestos surveying/abatement at SEDC‑owned properties at 103 to 111 North Kaufman Street. McDaniel said the roofing work has a 20‑year warranty but the waterproofing material required for the brick comes from a different vendor and carries a 10‑year warranty.
