The certified candidates named by the city secretary were John F. Green, John G. Sutton Jr., Bill T. Will Wilson II and Martha Ruiz. The council approved the minutes of the Feb. 18 workshop and regular meeting in a separate vote.
Motion and votes: For approval of the Feb. 18 minutes, Councilman Wilson moved and Councilman Sutton seconded; the motion passed 5-0. For acceptance of the certification of unopposed candidates and adoption of the order of cancellation, Councilman Moore moved and Councilman Sutton seconded; the motion passed 5-0. Individual votes recorded in the meeting were in favor by Councilman Bethel, Councilman Moore, Councilman Wilson, Mayor Pro Tem John F. Green and Councilman Sutton.
The council announced it would meet in executive session following the public portion of the meeting under Texas Government Code sections cited on the agenda; the city manager told the mayor and council there was not expected to be action following that executive session.
Mayor Pro Tem Green presided in the mayor's absence. The council did not receive any public comments by mail or in the chamber for the items recorded at this meeting.
