HUTTO, Texas — The Hutto City Council voted 7-0 to approve Resolution R2025-112, authorizing a $128,775 amendment to a design services agreement with WSB LLC to continue work on the Ed Schmidt Improvements project (IPO T-10-2023).
City staff explained the amendment covers additional design work and separates the sidewalk and intersection components to accelerate portions of the project; the consultant will produce construction-ready documents for bidding when complete. Council discussion included questions about scope, drainage work and coordination with property owners and adjacent commercial developments.
Why it matters: The Ed Schmidt project is part of the city’s CIP to close sidewalk gaps and improve safety near school and commercial corridors. The amendment funds additional engineering and allows the city to split the work into multiple bid packages so components can move forward independently.
Council action: Councilmember Clark moved to approve R2025-112; the council then voted unanimously to authorize the amendment.
