Mustang Special Utility District outlines major water and sewer projects serving Gunter area

GUNTER, Texas — Chris Boyd, general manager of Mustang Special Utility District, gave a detailed briefing to the Gunter City Council on April 17 about the utility’s ongoing and planned infrastructure projects that will affect water and sewer service in and around Gunter.
"We now have 44,000 connections, and we are by far the largest sub in the state," Boyd said, describing rapid, multi-year growth Mustang has experienced and the district’s routine capacity additions. He told council Mustang is averaging 300–400 new meters per month — "adding a new Gunter every 3 to 5 months," he said — and that the district is pursuing multiple capital projects to keep pace.
