The Gunter City Council discussed multiple public-works projects and interlocal arrangements and signaled agreement to proceed, with staff to schedule work when weather allows.

For a Foxman Trace storm-sewer repair, staff said Wopak Construction was the low bidder. The project will replace approximately four to six panels and address a hole in a storm sewer that is eroding a resident’s yard. "It is replacement of approximately 4 to 6 panels," a staff member said of the Foxman Trace work.

Council members also discussed a separate asphalt repair project in which PACE Construction was the low bidder; a council member moved to award that contract. Staff described the driveway/asphalt work as a "simple soft cut" to reconnect asphalt to concrete across multiple driveways and said the project will wait for warmer weather.

The council discussed a pair of reciprocal interlocal agreements with Gracie County related to the city’s pothole patch truck. One agreement would have the county do pothole repairs in Gunter using the city’s equipment at an estimated $1,200 for six to eight hours of work; the flip side would rent the equipment to the county so the net cost is effectively zero, staff said. "So it's a net 0," a staff member said of the paired agreements.

Staff said once council approves, the county's commissioners court will also be asked to approve and the city will schedule the work. The meeting did not include a recorded roll-call vote on these items in the transcript provided; staff indicated they would proceed to schedule and award the work after approval.

Council members asked for timing and noted the Foxman Trace issue has been pending more than a year. Officials said the pothole truck is currently in the shop but will be scheduled once parts and service are complete.
