Commission postpones UDC amendments after legal review; staff to renotify predevelopment parcels

Senior Planner Samuel Haas told commissioners the proposed amendments would remove references to two-hearing ordinance procedures now inconsistent with recent Schertz charter amendments and would add dimensional standards to the predevelopment district, which previously had no standards. Haas said recent case law and legal advice prompted staff to notify all predevelopment property owners before proceeding.
No members of the public addressed the commission on the item. The commission moved to postpone (postpone to a future meeting to be determined) so staff can complete required notifications and return with revised materials.
Commissioner McMaster moved to postpone PLUDC20250001 to a future meeting; a second was recorded and the motion passed 7-0. The commission’s action postpones further consideration; staff will re-notify affected property owners and bring the item back at a later date.
