Representatives of the Pearland Citizens Police Academy Association used the citizen comment period to invite the council and the community to the association’s 19th annual Pair Run, a 5K/10K event scheduled for May 3.
Keith Williams, chair of the association and event director, said the Pair Run is a U.S. Track & Field‑sanctioned event that serves as the association’s primary fundraiser and supports donations of equipment and training for the Pearland Police Department. Williams said proceeds have helped pay for items such as a command center, drones, safety equipment and prevention training. He said the association has contributed “over $350,000” in community support over time and encouraged council members and city employees to register.
Williams was joined at the podium by Chrissy Emmons, identified as a board member. Williams provided event handouts and directed interested participants to the registration link he provided during comments.
Council thanked the speakers and encouraged community participation.
