At Monday’s meeting the Pearland City Council approved routine consent items and two separate resolutions authorizing acquisition of sewer utility easements tied to the Berry Rose wastewater reclamation project.
The consent agenda (items A through D) was approved by unanimous vote, 7-0. The council did not pull any consent items for separate discussion.
The council then approved two resolutions authorizing the use of eminent domain, if necessary, to acquire sewer utility easements connected to the Berry Rose project. The first resolution (R2025-27) described a 0.364‑acre tract in the Thomas J. Green survey (Brazoria County) and authorized city officials to acquire the easement by donation, purchase or eminent domain for construction and maintenance of sewer utility improvements. The second resolution (R2025-28) described a 0.234‑acre tract in the Thomas J. Green survey (Brazoria County) and authorized similar acquisition actions.
Both eminent domain resolutions were read into the record with legal descriptions and passed on unanimous roll-call votes (7-0). Council recorded Yeas from members present on each motion.
