Board meeting introduces new teachers, payroll specialist and district hires

Amherst Exempted Village Schools staff used the board meeting to introduce new hires that will join the district next school year and to announce a recent payroll hire.

Human-resources and curriculum staff read short bios for each new hire. The meeting noted Angela (last name not present in the transcript) will join as the band teacher and assistant band director and that she comes to the district from Las Vegas and Bowling Green State University and has 11 years of k–12 music teaching experience. The treasurer introduced Victoria Jantz as the new payroll specialist in the treasurer epartment; she began work the same day and holds a bachelor egree from Kent State and has local HR/payroll experience.

Other new hires introduced included classroom teachers joining from nearby districts and applicants with varying backgrounds (teachers identified as Susan Davis, Rebecca Urbana, Mary [last name not specified], Matt Wilkos and Jennifer). The board welcomed each and several of the new employees offered short remarks about returning to the community or their excitement to join Amherst.

The board recessed those introductions into the personnel recommendations portion of the agenda, which included multiple contract and staffing motions later approved by roll call.
