The Assessors’ Office previously relied on employee-owned vehicles; staff said it is inequitable to expect assessors to continue using personal vehicles for daily work.
Memorial Building roof: The administration proposed amending the capital budget to move forward with replacement of the Memorial Building roof this year after reviewing architect estimates and noting commercial roofing prices have declined. Staff said the last full roof and masonry work on the building was performed in 1995.
Saxonville project: Staff warned committee members that the Saxonville intersection proposal remains under review and that current design estimates may be revised. “We’re still evaluating the Saxonville project,” administration staff said, noting the team is exploring alternative designs that could materially change the cost estimate; any adjustment could be upward or downward.
Procurement and documentation: Committee members asked for the full, updated CIP spreadsheet and confirmed that the packet on the city website contains the current budget proposal. The subcommittee did not take immediate votes on these capital items; they remain in the ongoing CIP review process.
Next steps: Staff said the capital spreadsheet will be updated on the website with the new items and any final Saxonville adjustments will be presented before the committee completes its capital review.
