Coordinator reports: rail-trail contract in legal review, cemetery tomb-house press release, grant training planned

Framingham’s Community Preservation Committee heard updates April 14 from the CPC coordinator on several projects and administrative items.
The coordinator reported that the contract for the Kitchatuate Rail Trail restoration project has been signed and is currently in the city’s legal office for review; staff expect work to begin within the next month. The city issued a press release announcing commencement of work at the Edgewell Grove Cemetery tomb house; the coordinator circulated that release to committee members.
The coordinator said she plans to host a grant-recipient training, likely in May, to help recipients understand procurement processes and how to receive funding; she expects to invite all recent grant recipients and said co-applicants should attend. She also noted the Reardon Park project reallocation was approved by the finance subcommittee and is on the City Council agenda for final action.
Additionally, the coordinator mentioned the Massachusetts Housing Partnership annual conference in June at the DCU Center and invited committee members to contact her if they want to attend; the city will cover conference registration for members who participate.
Committee members agreed they would attend or support upcoming council presentations and that staff and members would continue coordination on project starts and training for grant recipients.
