According to the application presented in committee, the event would feature two licensed tattoo artists offering flash tattoos and earmark 20% of event profits for a local charity. The Cuyahoga County Board of Health advised that written approval from the Brook Park Building Department is required; committee members noted the applicant had followed the required steps and that the Building Department’s approval is part of the compliance process.

Council members praised the charity component and discussed whether an existing tattoo business in Brook Park could be affected; the mayor reported that a prior local tattoo business had recently vacated its building and that no permanent replacement is known at this time. Councilman Metzine asked which charity would benefit; the mayor said the application did not nominate a specific charity and that the administration could help make local suggestions.

A motion to have the legislation drawn and placed on the May 20 council agenda for passage was made and properly supported; the clerk called the roll and recorded affirmative votes, advancing the item to the full council agenda.
