Board approves personnel report; district lists resignations, transfers and new hires

The Pulaski Community School District Board voted to approve the personnel report that listed resignations, transfers and new hires for the coming school year.

Human-resources staff presented a list of resignations and transfers and described the process used for filling openings, including building-level volunteer requests followed by internal postings when necessary. Staff said some transfers were the result of building-level enrollment changes and reductions in sections.

The personnel report named several resignations and contingencies: Cale Schafer (high school) resigned to pursue a different career path; Natalie Klimick and Morgan Ducat listed reasons such as position changes and location; Emily Elder Fraser and Janisha Thompson resigned for personal/other employment reasons; Sam Hunt's resignation was noted as contingent on acceptance by another district.

Transfers and internal moves included Molly Brodsky and others moving between grade assignments; staff described interview processes at the building level to determine the best fit for new/full-day classroom configurations.

New hires approved in the report included Amanda Kurlach (Hillcrest dean of students, master's degree, 15 years experience), Reese Warchak (Hillcrest second grade, student teacher), Ben Otto (returning teacher with 18 years' experience), Rebecca Brooklyn (high school counselor, 17 years' experience) and Shannon Hall Torres (middle school special education teacher, master's degree, 8 years' experience). The report covered hires, resignations and transfers that staff said were effective next school year.

A board member moved to approve the personnel report; another seconded the motion, the board voted by voice and the motion carried.
