Middleburg council member reports budget trims, events schedule and Asbury oral-history project

Asbury project and oral histories
On the Asbury project, Jacobs said proposals for architect-engineering services and construction management have been received and firms interviewed. Jacobs said the town is negotiating contracts with its preferred firms and has contracted Kandor Ventures, a DC-area professional videography firm, to record oral-history interviews. Jacobs described the oral-history scope: about 15 interviews, roughly five minutes each, and a longer 30-minute piece that will trace the Asbury church and local African American community history. Jacobs said Kandor has already visited Middleburg to scout locations and capture b-roll footage.
Formal action
The commission approved the minutes from the March 31, 2025 work session and regular meeting by voice vote after a motion to accept them "as presented." The motion carried on an affirmative voice vote. (Mover and seconder not named in the transcript.)
