The town’s oral-histories project recorded its first three interviews in Middleburg this week, and Kandor Ventures conducted b-roll filming at Asbury Church and in the downtown area, staff said.
“Jim Roberts was the first person to be interviewed this morning,” staff member Rhonda North said. “I thanked him for participating in our project and he thanked me and said that this allowed him to recall memories that he had long since forgotten.” North said the recordings prompted positive responses and that the project team will continue to gather local histories.
On the related Asbury Church restoration work, staff reported they received a revised proposal from their number-one ranked architecture/engineering firm and that the restoration committee will meet next week to discuss the proposal and next steps.
Staff asked for any council questions and said they will bring committee recommendations to the council after the next meeting.
