Supervisor Stewart moved to accept Evert’s resignation “effective immediately” and to appoint Hefty as interim counsel; the board then voted, with Supervisors Stewart, Moyer, Pearson, Stiers and Evelyn recorded as “aye.”
Supervisor Stewart later moved the required certification that the board had discussed only the matters specified in the motion to enter closed session; the board voted to certify that statement.
The resignation and interim appointment take effect immediately; the motion recorded no additional terms, and the board did not discuss future personnel actions in open session. The clerk conducted the roll call and certification votes during the meeting.
The board moved on to other agenda items after completing the certification required by state law.
