Council authorizes city attorney to represent Astoria in litigation tied to Owens project

Councilor Davis moved that the city authorize an attorney to represent the city in the litigation and subsequently moved to name Blair Henning's guard as counsel to represent Astoria in that matter. Councilor Lum seconded. The council approved the motion by voice vote with ayes recorded and no opposition.
Mayor Fitzpatrick and councilors did not discuss the litigation record in open session; the agenda item followed the executive session rule that deliberations in executive session are confidential. The council’s action authorizes the city attorney named in open session to represent the city in the identified review proceeding.
