Council approves multiple supplemental budget adjustments and transfers

Junction City's City Council on Tuesday approved a package of supplemental budget changes and contingency transfers to cover capital and operating needs across multiple funds.
Finance staff presented three structured supplemental items: an adjustment to the Capital Projects and Community Services accounts to finish community-center outfitting; transfers and appropriations to Parks, Public Works (administration and planning), Streets and Police Department funds to cover rising personnel and contract costs; and contingency and appropriations transfers for sewer, water and administration funds to address overages in materials, services and building maintenance lines.
Staff said the capital outlay change for the community center (approximately $77,400) and a set of smaller corrections are funded by reprogramming existing capital funds and contingency. Police budget adjustments reflect dispatching contract costs and higher vehicle- and equipment-maintenance charges; staff said new property-tax revenue and contingency transfers support the change. Council approved Resolution 4, Resolution 5 and Resolution 6 by unanimous roll call.
Staff will continue monitoring FY24/25 revenues and expenses and return to council with any further adjustments as needed.
