Wappingers Falls hires planning attorney, awards tree‑work bid and accepts fire company personnel updates

The Wappingers Falls Board of Trustees appointed Lisa Cobb of Lisa Cobb Law as the village's planning board and zoning board of appeals (ZBA) attorney during its April 9 meeting.
Trustees voted to accept Hogan's Property Maintenance and Landscaping's bid for tree‑crew services. The bid, the only one received, quoted $375 per hour for a crew consisting of a bucket truck, wood chipper with storage truck, a tree climber and two laborers (down from $400 per hour last year). Additional labor was quoted at $40 per hour and stump grinding at $100 per hour. The vendor provided proof of insurance showing $1,000,000 personal injury coverage and $2,000,000 general aggregate; trustees approved the award for calendar year 2025–2026.
The board also accepted correspondence from the William T. Garner Engine Company reporting personnel changes: two members were voted in as active members (Junior Sanchez and Charles Rizzo); two resignations were reported (Second Lieutenant Bridal Hall and Second Lieutenant Robert Ward); and Jason Ensign was voted to replace Robert Ward as custodian. The board voted to accept the fire company’s report.
Each of these items was approved by voice vote during the meeting.
