Lead designer Aubin Gwen presented the plans and images showing a 4-foot-high vintage-style metal fence in the front and cedar double gates that will be framed by a hornbeam hedge. Gwen described the front fencing as “a repro wrought iron” in a prefab kit and said the double gate would connect to the 8-foot side and rear fence that includes a 2-foot semi-transparent topper of narrow slats.
A commissioner moved to approve the application; staff explained the standard process for issuing the Certificate of Appropriateness and said the formal certificate will be prepared and made available online. The commission’s approval followed the typical procedural vote and the applicant was instructed to stay in touch with staff for the final documentation.
The commission’s approval covers front fencing materials and gate configuration; installation must follow the approved drawings and any conditions listed in the certificate.
