Hudson Trust Fund reports small grants, more households helped as other sources run low

Staff provided an update on the Hudson Trust Fund at the HCDPA meeting on April 25, reporting a small grant from Bank of Green County and recent client assistance totals.
Staff said the Trust Fund spent $4,625 since the prior month and assisted 10 individuals across three households: two households received current-rent assistance and one received help with arrears tied to employment and health issues. Examples cited included households needing help after a job loss, illness and car repairs.
Staff noted local partner Catholic Charities has exhausted its rental assistance funds and county American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds are nearly depleted, making the Hudson Trust Fund one of the few remaining local sources. The grant program provides approximately $50,000 annually through the trust fund and staff said they will post webinar recordings and meeting minutes on the city website.
Ending: the Trust Fund will meet next on May 14 and staff will circulate additional program documentation and the webinar recording from April 23 on the city’s site.
