Police report: department adopts county CAD agreement, highlights Narcan use and K‑9 support

Captain Dave Miller, speaking for the Hudson Police Department, summarized April public‑safety activity and described near‑term technology upgrades during the May 12 informal council meeting.
Miller said officers made 19 arrests involving about 50 charges in April and that the department responded to 10 emotionally disturbed person calls and one overdose that was reversed with Narcan. "Narcan was administered, and the subject...came to," Miller reported.
Miller described the department’s therapy K‑9 visits to neighboring jurisdictions after a recent airplane crash and major traffic incident, and he praised the positive feedback from other first‑responder agencies.
He also described a county agreement to let the city join Columbia County’s CAD system and integrate the department’s records management system. "They're giving us the CAD system, which is already up and running in the county, free of charge to us," Miller said. "That saved us probably close to $200,000 for that portion of the system." Miller said the integrated CAD and RMS will improve call transfers and situational awareness between jurisdictions.
The department also reported recent hires and that two new officers had been sworn; body‑worn camera reporting for April showed no exceptional incidents. Miller said the department is working with county partners on implementation of the CAD and records systems.
No formal vote on the CAD agreement was recorded in the informal session; Miller thanked county staff and said a resolution appearing on the agenda would formalize the arrangement.
