Hudson HA schedules tenant appreciation day, public review of 5-year plan and sets budget timetable

The City of Hudson Housing Authority told commissioners April 21 that it will hold a tenant appreciation day on June 27, 2025, from noon to 4 p.m., and that the Bank of Greene County Charitable Foundation awarded a $2,000 grant to support the event.

Executive Director Jeffrey Dodson read correspondence from the foundation indicating the grant is restricted to the tenant appreciation event and requires periodic reporting and a final report. Dodson said the authority will email board members the grant agreement and related documentation.

Dodson also announced that the authority opened a 45-day public review and comment period for its five-year plan beginning April 14, 2025. The public hearing on the five-year plan is scheduled for Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at Bliss Towers Community (location listed by the authority). Residents and voucher participants may submit written comments to Jeffrey Dodson by May 27, 2025, or attend the hearing to provide input.

On budget timing, commissioners were told a budget draft is expected to be presented next month and that trustees plan to vote on the budget at the May meeting. Dodson said the board will receive package materials in advance and, if needed, an executive session can be scheduled in May to discuss salary or union-related matters.

Dodson also reminded residents of a tenants’ meeting with the manager on May 6, 2025, at 5 p.m. in the community room to discuss building issues and upcoming plans.
