The agenda listed an ordinance to acquire the El Catit property and a capital ordinance appropriating $4,765,000 from the township Open Space Trust Fund to pay for the purchase. The council also introduced a capital appropriation of $998,000 for various open-space acquisitions and improvements and a pair of bond ordinances covering municipal capital improvements and water utility capital projects; formal public hearings and final adoption were scheduled for the May 13 meeting.
A council member clarified on the record that the parcel described as 360 Franklin Boulevard in tax records is a wooded lot behind the church at that address and that the planned acquisition would preserve heavily wooded land in Ward 4. No purchase contract was finalized in public discussion; the ordinances were introduced for first reading, with public hearings set for May 13.
Several bond and capital ordinances and their introductions were recorded on the consent and ordinance calendars; the clerk recorded roll-call votes on other items during the meeting but the open-space acquisition ordinance remained at first-reading introduction status pending the May public hearing.
