Mayor Kramer read the motion language aloud and said he had no voting power for the motion. Trustee Zach Lichtman made the motion and Trustee Kevin McNeil seconded it; the board voted to enter executive session and then later voted unanimously to return to the public meeting. The board did not disclose details of the discussion when it returned to the public session.
Earlier in the meeting a board member said they had received an email from two retired teachers who wanted to make a donation to the library; the executive session motion referenced a negotiation or donation linked with naming the children's area, but no agreement or decision was announced during the public meeting.
Board members followed required notice procedures at the start of the meeting; the chair reported that the meeting had been scheduled and public notice provided to the Courier News, the Home News Tribune and the Franklin Township Clerk.
The board scheduled its next public meeting for May 28.
