The commission noted several items expire or need refreshing (for example, energy‑audit credits from prior cycles) and flagged new opportunities including EV‑friendly recognition and a community health assessment that could yield significant points. The meeting materials indicated the first submittal opportunity for feedback is May 16; commissioners agreed to finalize assignments and meet with the green team to distribute work.
Commissioners also finalized arrangements for a public film screening scheduled for a Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. The event will be moderated by a commissioner, feature three guest speakers on regenerative agriculture and be staged in a township facility. The commission will bring literature and give away LED nightlights obtained through a prior Sustainable Jersey grant. Members discussed refreshments logistics and decided not to bring a popcorn machine to avoid cleanup issues.
Separately, commissioners discussed outreach: the commission wants a short article for the local paper asking for volunteers and proposing a youth non‑voting seat or other volunteer roles. The topic will be developed for a future meeting and the commission asked staff to check whether ordinance changes are required to appoint a non‑voting youth member.
