Hopatcong council appoints and swears in Anthony Bongiovanni to fill council vacancy

After an executive session on Jan. 20 to interview candidates for a council vacancy, the Hopatcong Borough Council nominated and voted to appoint Anthony Bongiovanni to the vacant Council C seat. Mayor Galati administered the oath immediately, and Bongiovanni took his seat that evening.
Council Member Falcone moved to nominate Anthony Bongiovanni; the motion was seconded and passed on a roll-call vote with Council Members Falcone, Johnson, Koussevich, Rodriguez and Smith recorded as voting yes. The mayor then swore in Bongiovanni in a brief ceremony on the council dais.
During the swearing-in, Bongiovanni repeated the oath of office and was welcomed by council members; the council indicated there would be a public ceremonial event at a later date for family and guests.
