Denise Rishard appeared before the commission to request that three parcels be classified as Agriculture. Rishard described long-term use of the land under a conservation plan and noted she recently acquired a tract that had been part of her family—s conservation planning. She said she was certified as a master farmer by the state and that the land had been maintained under conservation practices for many years.
Planning staff confirmed the parcels were shown in Department of Agriculture materials as under conservation plans and recommended approval. Commissioners praised the stewardship and the commission voted to approve the agricultural zoning for the parcels discussed. The approvals will be forwarded to the parish council as the commission—s recommendation.
