Elections office asks for upgraded logistics specialist as early‑voting complexity grows; council approves promotion

Lexington County Council approved an upgrade of an existing Clerk of Court logistics position to reflect expanded election‑logistics duties, including management of ADA equipment, early‑voting setup and large inventories associated with multiple elections per year.

The elections presenter explained the logistics role grew after the 2022 implementation of expanded early voting and now includes scheduling, equipment custody, asset management, and ADA compliance for a network of 80–96 precincts and dozens of polling locations. The presenter said the office now manages more than 1,200 electronic devices and over 2,000 supplies and must coordinate complex deliveries and retrievals during brief election windows.
