The Jackson County Public Safety and Transportation Committee voted to forward to the full county board the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) contract and resolution for the Moscow Road project, which covers resurfacing and related roadway work from the Hillsdale County line to M-60.
A Jackson County Department of Transportation representative described the project scope as paving, milling, shoulder gravel and guardrail and sign work along Moscow Road between the county line and M-60. The representative presented an estimated project cost and funding plan that combines federal funds and local Jackson County Department of Transportation maintenance and participation funds.
Committee members did not raise substantive questions in committee beyond the usual review. Commissioner Baer moved to forward the contract and resolution to the full board with a recommendation of approval; Commissioner Duckham supported the motion. The committee posted the vote and the motion passed unanimously.
What happens next: The resolution and MDOT contract will be considered by the full county board for final approval and execution.
