Planning staff updated the commission on a gas-station case recently decided by city council and summarized the conditions attached by council.
Bridal Chandler, planning and development director, said the city presented council with the Planning and Mobility Commission’s recommended addition to prevent overnight parking at the gas station; Chandler said that recommendation "was included and, and also approved per PMC recommendation." Chandler further reported that Council member Walker added a condition prohibiting a standalone vape shop or tobacco store in one of the smaller retail buildings on the site. "Council member Walker also added condition for the smaller retail building to not allow a standalone vape shop or tobacco sale," Chandler said.
Chandler presented these items as part of a broader staff briefing on recent council actions; the work session did not include a new vote on the gas-station case.
Staff did not provide vote tallies in the work session update; the transcript reflects acceptance of the PMC recommendation and the two explicit conditions described by staff.
