Council adopts North Sweet Home Area Plan as amendment to comprehensive and transportation plans

The City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to adopt the North Sweet Home Area Plan as an amendment to the city’s 2025 Transportation System Plan and comprehensive plan.
The ordinance was presented and read by title as Ordinance Bill 4 for 2025 (Ordinance No. 1332). Following a motion and second, the council recorded seven yes votes and no nays to adopt the plan.
Staff described the North Sweet Home Area Plan as a subelement intended to guide development, transportation, and land‑use decisions in the North Sweet Home planning area. Council did not adopt additional amendments during the meeting; staff will follow through on implementation through planning and project work.
